As an artist who quit Instagram a few months ago, I'm really enjoying my post-Instagram life, feeling like I'm no longer screaming into the void and Instagram's confusing algorithm but I'm starting to wonder: do artists need social media to be successful? Can an artist be recognized and hired for their art without relying on Instagram and other social media platforms? Can we as artists and creators achieve success without the constant spray of our work on social media? Let's get a little philosophical about it here and talk about the benefits of leaving social media and quitting Instagram as an artist, and how that's impacted my work. I'd love to hear from you and your relationship with socials: are you an artist that relies on Instagram to get work, do you want to quit posting too? What are your thoughts?
