Microsoft has just announced the release of new Windows 10 21H2 and 21H1 builds for Insiders in the Release Preview channel.
However, 21H2 preview builds are ONLY available to Insiders who were moved from the Beta Channel to the Release Preview Channel because their PCs did not meet the hardware requirements for Windows 11!
For those "ineligible" Insiders already in the Release Preview channel, Microsoft also has a new 20H2 build for you. If you opt in for it, you'll get KB5005101, bringing the build number to 19042.1200.
Until now, there was little difference between the 21H2 and 21H1 builds in this channel, but the just-released 21H2 build 19044.1200 finally enables the three new features that Microsoft detailed for the Windows 10 21H2 update back in July. If you're still on the 21H1 version of Windows 10 in the Insider Release Preview Channel, the update is available for "seekers".

Known issue:
● The Windows Update settings page may hang after you download an optional update. Close and reopen the Windows Update settings page if you encounter this.
To check and see if you’re running Windows 10, version 21H2, just type “winver” into the Windows search box on the Taskbar. It should show as “Version 21H2”.
SAY HELLO TO WINDOWS 10 VERSION 21H2!
The all-new 21H2 build should now be available via the “seeker” experience in Windows Update. Windows 10 version 21H2 will bring three new features related to Wi-Fi security, Windows Hello, and the Windows Subsystem for Linux.
IS WINDOWS 10 VERSION 21H2 A MINOR OR MAJOR UPDATE?
Windows 10 version 21H2 will be another minor update that will install just like a regular cumulative update.
STAY TUNED FOR THE NEW FEATURES!
Microsoft will have more to share on future Windows 10 updates in the future, but Windows 10 version 21H2 will also serve as the basis for the next version of the Windows 10 Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC), which will get five years of support. Windows 10 version 21H2 for Home and Pro users will only get the regular 18 months of support, with Microsoft providing 30 months of support for Enterprise and Education users.
THE FUTURE OF WINDOWS
Windows 10 will be coexisting with Windows 11 in the next couple of years, with Microsoft being committed to support the now six years old OS throughout 2015. If Windows 10 users with compatible PCs will be able to upgrade to Windows 11 for free, Microsoft won't be leaving behind the more than 1.3 billion monthly active devices on Windows 10.
