DJ Nickle Bee was a known underground Hardcore producer, releasing tracks on Boogie Beat Records throughout the 90s between the transition of Hardcore music to Jungle. He would collaborate with other producers, Kid Andy & Nickle Bee made stompers like Kid Andy & Nickle Bee - Pain (Endurance Remix), DJ's Kid Andy & Nickle Bee – How We Fell Apart (Back To My Heart Mix), and, Kid Andy & Nickle Bee – Pain / The Return Of Zobra. The duo released severals EPs like, Kid Andy + Nickle Bee – The Unexpected E.P. Vol 1, Nickle Bee Kid Andy & M.C. Charl. E – Immortal E.P., DJ's Kid Andy, Nickle Bee & MC Charl.E – Astrology E.P. Nickle Bee pursued a career as a UK Garage DJ featuring on Divine FM and Upfront FM in the late 90s.
MC Spidey G was a fine balance between a classic House & Garage host and a 2 Step MC/lyricist. He was known to pirate radio listeners on London's FM dial and was previously on Chicago FM 90.6 before it became Mission FM as UK Garage host/MC, he was also a Jungle MC on Pressure FM 100.4. He spearheaded MCing over UK Funky music in the mid to late 2000s and is still active as MC on London's Afro House and Funky House scene MCing for DJ Supa D, DJ Marcus Nasty and DJ Pioneer.
MC Wicked started MCing in 1993, performing as Hardcore and Jungle MC on Format FM and at venues like Club Labyrinth. He switched over to Garage in the mid 90s and still remains active headlining big events like Pure Temptation, Garage Nation as well big music festivals.
Upfront FM 99.3 began broadcasting as a pirate radio station in the late 90s to London city and its surrounding counties from their south west London base. They strived to keep a professional sound, playing all the UK Garage classic anthems of that era. They ran many successful rave nights across South London like "Southern Comfort" and "A One Night Stand", hosting events at popular venues in Caesar's in Old Kent Road, The Blue Orchid in Croydon, and Club Colosseum in Vauxhall. They also hosted arenas at some the biggest Garage raves, like: La Cosa Nostra: The 1999 Underground Soundclash (The Opening Chapter), on Sat 13 March 1999 @The Rex Music Arena, in Stratford, London, and in 2000, Upfront FM hosted "The Attic: Come As U R" with Pure Science @Atomic Nightclub (Maidstone, Kent). The station showcased the very best DJs, MCs and producers of that era: DJ Hatcha (Big Apple Records) & MC Crazy D, DJ South Central (Urban Myths), DJ Para (D.E.A. Project), DJ KCK, DJ Goodfella, MC Spidey G, Jaydee, DJ Frontline, DJ G Money, DJ Risky & MC Asher, DJ/MC Madd B, MC Destruction, MC Shadow, MC Contrast, MC Lipton (Trinity @Chunnel Club), MC Easyrider (RIP), DJ Jesse James, DJ Top Notch, DJ GBH, DJ Iron Lung, DJ Lady B Line, DJ Danny C (AIM Records), DJ GBH, DJ Gavin Jay, DJ Mr Wilson, DJ Jon Russell, DJ Nicklebee, DJ Paul Lipton, DJ Emma Feline (London's Most Wanted), DJ Darren James, DJ Aqua D, DJ Jo Public, DJ Dave Foster, DJ Tony Dee, DJ Relay, DJ Kraftie, DJ Matix, DJ Mark Brown, DJ Alan B, and many others. They went off air in the late 2000s with the transformation of UK Garage into Dubstep and Grime.
The year 1998, was a pivotal year for UK Garage. It was growing mass appeal, it was no longer a small scene or second fiddle to Jungle raves. It was now taking the London and the UK by storm. Colour Girl.
