Coastal tourism has begun in Roman times when the first villas were built in the coastal region of the Apennine peninsula. Beach tourism has grown significantly in the last few decades. India has a long coastline of six thousand seven hundred kilometers. Surrounded by the Arabian Sea to the west, the Bay of Bengal to the east, and the Indian Ocean to the south, this long coastline is an important aspect of tourism.
India has beautiful beaches on the coast of Konkan, Kerala, Karnataka & Goa. India is divided into two parts, the Himalayan region in the north and the blue sea in the south. Beaches along the coast provide various beach tourism opportunities for millions of people. Many activities like boating, fishing, swimming, walking, and sunbathing entertain the tourists. Beaches in India are truly scenic and they serve every purpose. Coastal tourism is becoming one of the largest industries in the world.
