This shows how I moved from motor driven threaded rod devices. Through simple servo gearboxes with the servo control electronics removed, using two wire supply only. To using homemade servo controls with 555 chips to provide fully controlled endpoint positions for these servo linkages that still use paperclips and bicycle spokes as final operating links.
