ーAbout the Projectー
GIMICO, Kenta Abe, Noriko Kurihara, Susumu Masuno / Kaname Murakami (Editor-in-Chief, WWD Japan) explore how well-made fashion that is tailored specifically for a person’s needs can change their life.

アダプティブファッションの先駆的存在として2016年にスタートした「TOMMY HILFIGER ADAPTIVE」を、義足モデル、ダウン症Youtuber、難治性てんかんの子供、義手の社会人が着こなす。パンツの開閉部をベルクロ仕様にしたり、ボタンをマグネット仕様に採用することで、誰でも着やすい服を目指す同プロジェクトは、米国のデザインチームが障害当事者とコミュニケーションを行ない、日本でのユーザーからのフィードバックも伝えることで、常にブラッシュアップを続けている。高齢者、障害者をふくめると世界中の人口の約15%が利用するアダプティブ機能が、決してニッチではないことを教えてくれるだろう。

GIMICO
When she was in the eighth grade, she has appeared in many other works with her edgy presence. In 2016, she appeared in the flag handover ceremony at the closing ceremony of the Rio Paralympics. She has been selected to appear in commercials for NTT Docomo, Wacoal, Adidas, and other major companies, and is expected to become a new icon for the next generation.

GIMICO
中学2年生の時に骨肉腫のため右足大腿を切断、義足となる。2009年より日本で初めての義足モデルとして活動を開始。ミュージックビデオや写真、映画、イベントやショーなど一つのジャンルに捉われることなく常に大胆に表現を続け、それらを通じて今までにない新しい価値観が生まれている。2016年にはリオパラリンピック閉会式にてフラッグハンドオーバーセレモニーに出演し世界中から注目の的に。NTTdocomo、ワコール、アディダス、など大手企業のCMにも大抜擢をされ次時代のニューアイコンとしてその活躍がますます期待されている。

Kenta Abe
Kenta Abe was born as the youngest of three siblings, and was diagnosed with Down syndrome immediately after birth. After graduating from public elementary and junior high school, he entered a free school in Yokohama City, where his parents informed him that he had Down syndrome. After that, he got a job at an IT company, where he worked in the general affairs department, entering documents and cleaning the office.

あべ けん太
1987年東京・世田谷生まれ。区立小中学校から20歳でフリースクール卒業後、22歳で「区立就労支援センター」を経て、IT関連の会社に入社。現在も勤務の傍ら、NHK　Eテレ「バリバラ」や民放のテレビ番組など多数出演。普通自動車免許取得。また兄の経営する個人事務所「Down Up株式会社」に所属し、講演会、イベントなどで、ダウン症の啓発活動に力を注ぐ。

Noriko Kurihara
Suffered from a rare cancer (sarcoma) and had her right upper arm amputated in 2015. Before and after the surgery, she underwent anticancer drug treatment.
In March 2016, she returned to her work and still works as a nurse with her prosthetic hand.

栗原 慎子
2015年希少がん(肉腫)罹患し、手術前後に抗がん剤治療。右上腕切断。
2016年3月義手を装着し職場復帰。現在も義手ナースとして勤務中。

Masunoshin
After suffering a convulsive seizure at the age of two months and spending six months in a children's hospital, he was diagnosed with a rare intractable epilepsy syndrome called MPSI.
Through social networking sites, he connects and interacts with his friends with disabilities.
He is also the brother of two younger sisters.
He is bedridden with severe mental and physical disabilities. Although he needs medical care such as gastric bypass and suction, he is a five-year-old boy currently attending a regular preschool.

益ノ進
生後2ヶ月で痙攣発作。半年間子ども病院で闘病生活をした後、稀少な難治性てんかん”MPSI(遊走性焦点発作を伴う乳児てんかん)”の診断を受ける。SNSを通じて障がいをもつお友達と繋がり、交流を持つ。2人の妹がいる兄でもある。重症心身障害児として寝たきり。胃ろう、吸引等医療ケアは必要であるが、現在は一般の保育園に通う5歳児。

Yoichi Ochiai
Yoichi is a media artist who received his Ph.D. in Applied Computer Science from the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Tsukuba and Director of the Research and Development Center for Digital Nature. Ochiai is the Principal Investigator of JST CREST xDiversity Project.

落合 陽一
1987年生まれ。東京大学大学院学際情報学府博士課程修了。筑波大学デジタルネイチャー開発研究センター センター長、准教授・JST CREST xDiversityプロジェクト研究代表。「デジタルネイチャー（PLANETS）」、「2030年の世界地図帳（SBクリエイティブ）」など著書多数。「物化する計算機自然と対峙し，質量と映像の間にある憧憬や情念を反芻する」をステートメントに、研究や芸術活動の枠を自由に越境し、探求と表現を継続している。オンラインサロン「落合陽一塾」主宰。

TOMMY HILFIGER ADAPTIVE is a collection of clothes designed for adults and kids with disabilities, with features that make it easier to put on and take off, so that anyone can enjoy fashion.In addition to tops with zippers and other features that make them easy to open and close, the collection also includes features that take into account the concerns of wheelchair users, and features that are compatible with prosthetic arms and legs. They are also designed to be unobtrusive. This is a lineup that is hard to find in many stores.

障害のある大人と子どものためにトミー ヒルフィガーが脱ぎ着をしやすくする機能を加え、誰でもファッションを楽しめるようにデザインされたコレクションです。ファスナーなどのトップスの開け閉めを簡単にできる機能の他、車椅子利用者の悩みや困りごとを考慮した機能、義手や義足などの装具に対応した機能などをそなえ、かつ目立たないようにデザインされています。実店舗でなかなか手に取る機会がないラインナップです。
