Richard Burton as MacPhisto in the film Candy. The story is based on a novel by Terry Southern. Burton is hilarious in this and at the same time one is treated to his thespian power. Fun nearly forgotten film.
Forests of Flesh: (Candy 1968)
Life, which burned and bled in the triumph of my dream,
dim days
Where I stood steaming brightly
In the sleep-spun, sight-stunned glamour of that eagle-crested
dream
Thrust through the draughty, tongue-tied pores
Of those whose tender envelope of word-washed flesh
Fling that nameless, bitter tea
Stripped dry to the ice green, wind-whipped strawberry
passion
Of my fractured spleen's old lymph draining,
liquid... rrlll-list.
