Germany and France have urged the EU to strike a migration and asylum deal with the UK, citing Labour's more "constructive" stance on EU-UK relations.
In a letter to the EU home affairs commissioner, Germany's interior minister Nancy Faeser and France's former minister Gérald Darmanin said Brexit had disrupted migration policies.
They highlighted the lack of agreements on people movement between the UK and the Schengen area, which they claim has fueled irregular migration and dangerous Channel crossings.
The ministers called on the European Commission to swiftly present a draft plan for negotiations with the UK.
