This Preserving America profile features the Mount Vernon Ladies Association, the first national historic preservation association in America and the oldest patriotic women’s society in the country. Its purpose is to preserve, restore, and manage George Washington’s estate and educate about the life and legacy of our first president, so that his example of character and leadership will continue to inform and inspire future generations.
In addition to preserving the estate, the Association creates online educational resources to be used for both homeschooling and traditional school settings. These dedicated web hubs are shared free of charge and feature important topics such as the Siege of Yorktown, the Winter Patriots, and George Washington’s role in making our Constitution. Find out more about how the Mount Vernon Ladies Association used its grant award to enhance their online educational materials, which are the most visited pages on the Mount Vernon website.
The Preserving America Grant Program series profiles recipients that are telling the incredible story of our country from its founding era through its first century as a nation. View the profiles on our website at [ Ссылка ].
