Handy invents a weather machine that will allow the Smurfs to control their environment at will. Unfortunately, they cannot agree on whether it should rain or be sunny so the machine overloads and explodes.

The starving Smurfs discover a cave that has a stash of frozen food inside guarded by an equally frozen troll who was imprisoned because of his greed by a magic diamond. As the Smurfs defrost the cave, Gargamel steals the food, but the magic diamond transforms him into an icy mass and the freed troll happily helps the Smurfs carry the food back to their village.

23:57 - 35:28 - Now You Smurf Em Now You Don't
The underground trolls who want them to be their slaves capture the Smurfs. Papa Smurf ingeniously frees them and then destroys the trolls' magic crystal ball that gives them power over the Smurfs.
