SAN Titianum Whey is a combination of Whey Protein Concentrate and Whey Protein Isolate. The company is one of the old players in the sports nutrition industry, being established in 1996, and it is often considered to produce one of the best products on the market. Titanium Whey is their best-selling protein powder, so let’s see what makes this product so special.
Supplement Facts
Titanium Whey has some pretty good ingredients profile. In a serving size, which is 30g, you get:
• Just 114 calories
• 1.6g of fat, of which saturated fat 1g
• 3.3g of carbohydrates, of which sugars 1g
• 23g of protein
So that’s one very lean protein powder with numbers definitely within the acceptable range. You can also see the amino acid profile per 100g, which shows that the product is of really high quality. In 100g you get 20g of BCAAs, so in each serving of 30g you get more than 6.5 grams of BCAAs which is just outstanding. Now let’s check the Ingredients Profile.
SAN Titanium Whey Ingredients Profile
The ingredients you will find in SAN Titanium Whey are pretty simple – whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate, L-Glutamine and the standard ingredients for flavouring and mixability of the product. What makes the ingredient profile special (aside from the quality protein sources being used) is the process through which whey is manufactured.
Whey Protein Concentrate is ultrafiltered at low temperature, which ensures that you get all the beneficial protein micro fractions found in whey. It is also instantized for better mixability. Whey Protein Isolate is cross flow micro filtered and undenatured once again in order to preserve the micro fractions.
In other words you don’t just get the ingredients; you get them in a form that preserves all their benefits. Other brands that adopt such high standard of filtration is Dymatize and AllMAX Nutrition, so you’ve tried either of those two, you will be getting pretty much the same standard of quality with SAN.
SAN Titanium Whey Mixability and Taste
Titainum Whey mixes almost instantly in water and does not form any clumps. You might need to shake the blender bottle for a bit longer if you are using milk, but mixability is still good. If you like light shakes, then you will enjoy this one as it is almost like drinking flavoured water. It is very similar to Dymatize Elite Whey or Optimum Nutrition’s Gold Standard Whey. If you are into thick shakes that can fill you up, then you might not necessarily enjoy this one.
As for taste…I think this is the weak spot of Titanium Whey. In general the flavours that I’ve tried were not too strong. Add to this the fact this is a very thin shake and you probably get the idea that you won’t be indulging on this product. Don’t get me wrong, Titanium Whey tastes nice, but it just cannot be compared to some other products on the market. That’s the downside of having very low fats and carbs in the product.
The flavours that it comes in are:
• Banana Coconut
• Tropical Berry
• Chocolate Graham Cracker
• Vanilla Butterscotch
• Chocolate Rocky Road
• Cappuccino Cream
The flavour that we are reviewing today is Banana Coconut, which has strong banana flavour and only a hint of coconut. In my opinion the coconut aftertaste kind of spoils the flavour and I think that plain banana would have been better. Vanilla Butterscotch is more like vanilla caramel, again vanilla being the highly predominant flavour. Not a bad flavour though for those of you who like vanilla.
SAN Titanium Whey The Bottom Line
SAN Titanium Whey is a quality blend of whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate with great Nutrition Information. Each serving is high in protein and very low in carbs and carbohydrates for a protein blend.
It comes in three sizes:
1lb tub (454g) - $13
2lb tub (908g) - $26 /
5lb tub (2.27kg) - $55 / £45
Although it might seem like a relatively expensive protein powder, bear in mind that the prices are for a standard 5lb tub, not 4lb as most brands have decided to downsize their protein powders, but keep the same price. The quality of the ingredients also affect the price slightly. So while I won’t say that the product is cheap, I think it is worth the money.
I rarely praise a product and those of you who’ve seen some of the other reviews I’ve made know that. The thing is that it is hard to see a quality supplement that is really worth buying. However, when I spot one, like SAN Titanium Whey, I can’t help it but give it due credit.
But that’s my opinion guys. I am curious to read yours in the comment section below. Also, if you’ve liked this article don’t forget to share it and subscribe to our page.
