MPS Superintendent Dr. Keith Posely is emphasizing how important it is for students attend class.
Records show that in 2015, nearly half of MPS students Repeatedly missed school.
Poor attendance by younger students can greatly affect their reading by the end of third grade. And by the sixth grade, chronic absence is a leading indicator a student will drop out.
