😀 Hey guys, if you love working out with me you can now 'buy me a coffee' ❤️❤️❤️
[ Ссылка ] Hi Everyone,
Ok, so this is what is going on with me at the moment. I have had eczema all my life and it was never really so bad that it affected my day to day life. I was prescribed steroid creams from a young age and would just use a tiny bit here and there whenever there were flares and it got them under control pretty quick.
When I went through my divorce, I went through a lot of stress and my skin flared quite badly. I used quite a bit of steroid cream at that time, more than I should have. My skin ended up addicted to it so when I went away on a short holiday and didn't use it, after a week or two I went into what's called topical steroid withdrawal (TSW) and my skin flared like NEVER before. I had no idea at the time that TSW was even a thing, so I went to the doctor and they just prescribed me stronger steroids, even oral steroids not just cream. I took them for a couple of weeks and my skin definitely got a lot better, but about 3 weeks after stopping them it flared again. It was like I was caught in this cycle of overusing steroids, trying to come off them when my skin got better and then having to use them again because it flared so bad. In the end, after nearly a year of this happening, the cycle became very obvious to me, so obvious in fact that it made me look into steroid withdrawal online.
Low and behold I came across website after website of people talking about TSW and I realized this was a real thing. I decided to come off the oral steroids completely and to try to wean off the creams, which by now weren't even working much anymore anyway. As expected my body has retaliated in a big way as it is trying to figure out how to become balanced again and heal my skin without the external help of the steroids it had become so dependant on. No matter what, I am determined to ride out this storm. It is at times debilitating, but I am researching a lot and have already found a lot of ways to soothe my skin as I go through this process. Every person is different so the time frame for my recovery is uncertain. I am just taking one day at a time.
The reason why I am telling you all this is because my workouts are going to reflect how my skin is doing on any given day. On some days I am so sore that the thought of sweat on my skin makes me shudder. That is why I am going to be doing a lot of barre and mat workouts that don't make me sweat. I am going to fight for my ability to keep exercising in some way throughout this battle. It may be tough on some days, but I am determined for this not to rob me of the thing I love so much.
I know I have a lot of love and support in my fitness community and I am so grateful for that cause this is the hardest thing I have ever been through, both physically and mentally.
Thanks for reading. 💗💪😀
