Multiple law enforcement agencies and Torrance Fire Department responding to and on scene of a mass shooting suspect (occurred previous night) on Sepulveda Blvd. X Hawthorne Blvd.

The previous night, the suspect entered a ballroom in Monterey Park with a high powered rifle and opened fire, killing 11 and injuring 9 more. The suspect then fled in what was described as a white cargo van to another dance hall in Alhambra where he was disarmed.

Torrance PD officers located and surrounded the vehicle, SWAT officers approached the vehicle and found the male suspect inside deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Bomb squad and hazmat teams were dispatched due to the concern of explosives in the van. No explosives were discovered however 2 guns were located and recovered.
