The following video addresses the certification requirements to become a CNA in the state of New Jersey.
Training Requirements:
90 hours of instruction in a state-approved nurse aid training program or completion of a course in the Fundamentals of Nursing as a student nurse
Other Requirements:
Minimum Education -- High School Diploma
CNA competency test -- Candidates must take and pass a computer-based written examination as well as a skills test. The candidate must pass the skills test before being eligible for the written portion.

Requirements to stay active on the registry:
You must contact the Nurse Aide Registry to verify your employment as a CNA at least once every two years.
