We have a global food security crisis headed our way. The rate of population is increasing, our farming methods and overall changes in climate are conspiring to create a crisis of a magnitude we have never experienced. This demands an urgent and disruptive approach to find a sustainable solution. In this talk, I consider vertical farming as a potential part of the overall solution; drawing on personal experiences and immersive research, I outline the pros and cons of vertical farming and the need for innovation in general to attack this critical problem..
