A kayaker enjoyed a successful day paddling through the waters off the coast of Ireland in search of basking sharks when a number of the species swam close to his kayak.

Paul Cleary was paddling near Galley Head in Cork when he captured underwater footage of the creatures swimming through the water.

Cleary informed Storyful that over the course of his excursion he came across “at least eight large basking sharks feeding”.
