Nine hours in the 2.6 mile queue. Beginning at 19:29 on 14 September 2022 and exiting Westminster Hall at precisely 04:29 on 15 September 2022. Four hours from the Golden Hind near London Bridge to north side of Lambeth Bridge. Five hours “kettled” in “the Snake” in Victoria Park. We arrived at the bottom of the stairs in Westminster Hall just as they changed the watch. Mythical. Moving. The guards bow their heads like the eternally sleeping statues I’ve seen in cathedrals. Then the metallic rap of the sergeant at arms brings them back to life and they change places with other men and women who will keep the watch in a near Arthurian trance-like state. Ten minutes in Westminster Hall. Curtesy and bow to Queen Elizabeth II. Unforgettable. It will take some time to sink in. Advice:1. Bring a plastic bag to sit on in case the queue actually stops. We sat for an hour between 02:00 and 03:00 while they cleaned.
2. There are places to fill up your water bottle along the way, especially in the snake. But prepare to pour any liquids out at the end of the snake before entering security.
3. The last place to buy food is Southbank. But only buy/bring what you can eat because absolutely no food is allowed past security.
4. There are plenty of portaloos inside the snake and along the route.
5. Don’t bring any liquid makeup, lotion, or hand sanitizer in your bag. Nothing, absolutely nothing liquid is allowed past security. This is MORE secure than an airport.
6. Bring a hat, scarf, and jacket if you are queuing overnight. It’s windy and cold on Lambeth Bridge. The temperature is going to drop over the next few days.
7. Make friends or acquaintances with your compatriots in line. They will have extra snacks. They will make you laugh and they’ll hold your place if you need to get something to eat, etc.
8. Once you receive your wristband, you will need to show it a lot. This is good and makes everyone safer.
9. The Marshalls and police are doing an excellent job. The ambulance service is there like a flash if someone becomes unwell.
10. Peace. #lisq #qeii #queenelizabeth #QueenElizabethII,Remembering Her Majesty ,On Monday 19 September 2022 - the day of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth Il's

QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY
The British Embassy in Manila has celebrated the birthday of Queen Elizabeth 2nd, about a week before her passing on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022 (Friday in Manila). British Ambassador to the Philippines Laure Beaufils hosted the event at her residence in Makati City on Sept. 1, 2022.
The Queen celebrated two birthdays each year. Her actual birthday is on April 21 and her official birthday on the second Saturday in June. The elections and transition to a new administration in Britain, however prompted, the embassy here to move the birthday celebration to September.
