Congratulations on your new plant baby! Here are a few tips on how to acclimate and look after your new Monstera Thai Constellation.
1. Unpack carefully and remove dome lid and polystyrene etc. Keep your plant in the cup however, and do not re-pot for 4 to 6 weeks.
2. Shipping is stressful and so is acclimatising to the new environment. Your plant has acclimatised to a humid KZN South Coast environment and will now need to re-adjust to the environment in its new location. Try provide high humidity and warmer temperatures as best you can.
3. Bright indirect lighting is needed. No direct sunlight!!! Near a window or somewhere bright and warm.
4. Watering is crucial. Do not saturate the soil, just spray the top 1cm until you can see its damp. Do not overwater or you will cause the roots to rot and the plant will die. We will be sending you a detailed video on how we do it so that you can keep giving the plant the same care and ensure it stays healthy. As it grows and acclimatises, you can re-pot and adjust the care routine to your knowledge and conditions.
5. Re-potting after 4 to 6 weeks is up to you and the amount of growth in your plant. We recommend sphagnum peat moss, pumice, perlite and a slow release fertiliser.
