"During the Neptune Strike we will be providing opportunity for crews, our sailors, to interact with multiple nations, including Croatia, Romania, Hungary, Poland, Italy, just to name a few. There is about ten to twelve in total that we will be participating with. Today we have missions that are scheduled for over seven and a half hours, flying from the Adriatic up to Lithuania, into Romania, into Hungary, while we are simultaneously supporting operations in the Tyrrhenian Sea with (inaudible) Italian forces. So it is a great opportunity to, like I said, build our partnerships, gain interoperability by communicating and understanding how our friends work in this theater."

9. SOUNDBITE (English) Rear Admiral Dennis Velez, commander of the USS Bush:
"I am not going to speculate on what (Russian) president (Vladimir) Putin will do or not do. But I will echo what our leaders have said across the alliance and in my country is that NATO it is, at the end of the day, it is a defensive alliance and we will defend every inch of NATO territory. And that's as basic as I can put it. That's what my, our president has said, our secretary of defense (has said). And we mean that, what we said, that we, you know, we're a defensive alliance and we'll defend NATO."
