Today we will walk through the famous Friedrichstraẞe, or Frederick Street. It is a major cultural and shopping street in central Berlin. We will start at the Berlin Friedrichstraẞe U-Bahn station, a hub within the city.
This area is known for its boutiques and luxury real estate. Thanks to it running in a north to south direction, it forms a junction with the east and west part of Berlin. Most of it was badly damaged during the World War II, and recently rebuilt.
We then take a turn towards the Gendarmenmarkt, a square that houses the Berlin Concert Hall, and twin churches, the French Church and the German Church. The Gendarmenmarkt hosts Berlin’s most famous and popular Christmas Market.
