The patient is a 6-month old infant, who has history of Spina Bifida which was repaired early in life. This infant is now developing progressive increase in head size. The soft spot on top of the head is bulging and this infant’s ventricals are getting bigger. In order to avoid a shunt, this Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy procedure will aim to create a new outlet to communicate to the ventricals of the brain and to the subarachnoid space. The next step is to coagulate the choroid plexus of the ventricals of the brain to help decrease the production of the spinal fluid.
