After the Mammotion Luba 1 robotic lawnmower caused quite a stir last year and we tested it intensively, the new Luba 2 has now arrived. The test started immediately and we are very excited about the experience.
We had the Luba 1 in operation for about a year, gained experience and now know it quite well. In the previous videos, as well as in this one, we show its weaknesses but of course also its strengths.
Both versions are cordless robotic lawn mowers with GPS RTK. This of course offers all the familiar advantages and disadvantages. The most significant changes to the Luba 2 are the camera and the omnidirectional wheels. The test will show what these innovations bring. At first glance, the new wheels do not appear to offer any advantages on inclines. The camera, on the other hand, seems to work quite well.
The mowing quality of the Luba 2 is probably not entirely convincing either, as the mowing deck has largely remained the same. Soiling is a big issue here. What is convincing is the quality of the app and (hopefully) the edge cutting quality, which has remained the same.
Not much has changed in terms of workmanship and maintainability - at least at first glance. Here, too, we will take a closer look in the following test. After all, we want to keep our robotic lawn mowers in operation for many years.
We still rely on the Husqvarna EPOS system for the lawn. Although the mowing quality is not significantly higher, the Automower is much better designed in terms of dirt in the cutting area. In the course of the test, we will also show comparisons with the Husqvarna Nera models and the Solo Pro3.
