In the beginning of doing these laparoscopic surgeries, people were very hesitant to perform these advanced laparoscopic surgeries for very large fibroids or very large ovarian cyst or very big sized uterus. Nowadays we have very good equipment and instruments and the surgeons are becoming more and more expertise in handling these kind of advanced cases. Hence the big myth that these big surgeries cannot be done laparoscopically is disappearing. More and more fibroids which are larger in size, more in number, bigger uterus which are more than 1.5 kilos. Large ovarian cysts which are 15 to 20 cms are also being taken out laparoscopically are very safely there are lot of instruments and equipments. There are very good suture materials which are enabling these kind of surgeries possible by laparoscopy.
