In 2022, Hogo Fogo received recognition for their music contribution on the Danish music scene when they were nominated as "Best New Artist" at the prestigious Danish Music Awards.

Hogo Fogo’s unique sound draws inspiration from the enchanting melodies of Nordic Folk, the soulful rhythms of American Jazz, and the infectious energy of West African Funk. The band themselves describes their music as a transcendent blend of Jazz and Worldbeat Instrumental music.

The collective musical understanding of Michael Dalgas on drums, Lars Emil Riis on keyboards, Spencer Gross on guitar, and Søren Lund on bass have been honed over a 15-year journey together. Prior to forming Hogo Fogo, the four musicians have played a a lot together, lending their talents and versatile skills as backing for different artists. However, it was during a retreat to a Danish countryside summerhouse in 2021 that Hogo Fogo was formed. With nothing but their instruments, some microphones and some sketches of music their musical retreat resulted in their debut LP recording - Repeat.

Hogo Fogo fearlessly explores the boundaries of musical genres, effortlessly balancing equilibristic solos, long passages with just groove and fragile heartwarming ballads.
