The star witness for the defense in Marilyn Mosby's federal mortgage fraud trial was the defendant's ex-husband. Mosby was indicted in January 2022 on federal perjury and mortgage fraud charges, which are going to trial separately. The government alleges Marilyn Mosby lied on mortgage applications for two Florida homes in 2020 and 2021 to hide a tax lien and lock in loans at a lower interest rate. Testimony continued for a fourth day Thursday with Nick Mosby taking the stand. The defense has claimed it was his job to handle the family's finances.
