Many edible species of Sumac are wildly abundant in the USA. You probably have one on your property if you live in Zone 8b. Sumac was used to make a lemonade-type drink in the South of the past, but few people are aware of its uses anymore. Ironically, its dried and crushed berries make a popular spice in the Middle East and Asia; it's a wonder that only foraging enthusiasts know about Sumac here in the USA. In this video, I show you how I process Sumac. I've used it as an ingredient in my wildberry meads. You can read more about Sumac here: [ Ссылка ]
As always, do your own research before eating anything that grows wild on your property. Free plant identification apps can help. I use both Seek and PlantNet and follow up with some online research. Happy foraging. -Liza
