Braised Red Cabbage Traditional Recipe [Christmas side Dish] Ep 1
This recipe is very popular in Germany and other European countries, but here in England is more of a seasonal side dish that we commonly associate with around winter or Christmas.
This sweet and sour braised red cabbage goes beautifully with meats such as pork bacon, duck, partridge, or cold cuts like ham and turkey, and also an even better side dish to Sunday roast dinner!
Ingredients:
Red Cabbage 1x
Apples 2x
Onion 1x
Butter 100g
Brown Sugar 400g
Red Wine 150ml (optional)
Apple Juice 500ml
Red Wine Vinegar 80ml
All Spice 1 tsp
Mixed Salt and Pepper 1tsp
Garnish with:
Lemon Slices
Sprigs of Fresh Thyme
