There wasn't a good amount of info on what would happen when a NON AMS X1C/P1P ran out of filament. So I tested it.
TL;DW: If the filament is secured tightly to the drum it may cause damage to your printer, the one I had disconnected from the drum after lifting it from the mount (you can hear it drop in the video). The printer will then let you manually feed in another roll, but you won't be able to use the normal "load" button. You'll need to feed in the filament, heat up the hot-end to the appropriate temp, then extrude until you see it come out. Restarting the print cleans off the head.
WARNING: You *WILL NOT* be able to change the filament settings mid-print (ie: hot-end temperature range) so be sure to use filament that's compatible with what you have in there.
