Just a quick video to show an alternative way to pitch a Mountain Laurel Designs Sil-Nylon Duomid tent without using pole jacks. By lashing two trekking poles together with two of the new Voile 6” Nano straps (20 grams) an extended pole is created that allows you to offset the pole thus eliminating the annoying center pole. An additional guy line off the top loop provides stability. Not as stable as a vertical pole, but for 95% of the nights this is strong enough. If needed, the pole length can be adjusted on a moment’s notice for configuring it with a more traditional vertical pole.
