guitarist Nita Strauss was recently asked on how she landed the gig with Alice Cooper back in 2014, which led to her being a full time guitarist for alice cooper's band.
she said:
"You know they always say: luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. It seems like overnight success, but really I've been touring for 16 years - I'm 31 and I've been touring since the age of 15 - and it was just slowly building up.
"You know, building up my technique, building at my stage presence or performance. And so I was playing in a band called Femme Fatale, and a man by the name of Kip Winger was at one of the gigs.
"He saw me play and he still was connected with the Alice Cooper camp, so when he heard that Alice was looking for a new guitar player, he was kind enough to recommend my name.
"And that just goes to show you guys that even when you're playing in the smallest, darkest club with 200 people or five people or whatever, play the show of your life because you never know who could be watching and who could get you that next level."
she was also asked, Is Alice a nice guy as he seems to be?
"Yes, and nicer. You know that 'No More Mr. Nice Guy' thing? Well, spoiler alert! He's the nicest guy. And the coolest thing is - not many people these days really have a 'gimmick' onstage, and Alice offstage is the absolute nicest and most humble person you could ever hope to meet.
"He takes all the time that he has for his fans, he plays golf, he loves to watch ghost TV shows, 'Ghost Adventures' on TV, but then he gets on stage and he puts the makeup on, he goes straight into character and he's Alice Cooper, he's this villain, this evil, crazy psychopath.
"That's why you'll never see Alice do shout outs onstage, you know, 'Happy birthday to Sarah in row five!' That's not in the character, so it's very very cool to be a part of that."
