Discover the advantages of Obamacare: accessible healthcare, coverage for pre-existing conditions, preventive care, and financial assistance options.
Hey everyone, welcome back. In today's video, we're gonna be talking about Obamacare, also known as the Affordable Care Act. I’ll also be explaining how this healthcare law has changed the insurance landscape and improved access to healthcare for a ton of people. Look, I get it, rent is high and inflation isn’t making anything any easier. Just a couple of years ago the price of gas was around 2$ now, it costs around $3.50 a gallon near me. Everything seems to be getting more and more expensive. It seems like, no matter how hard, or how many hours we work, that we’re always just barely keeping our heads above water. And God forbid if anyone has an accident or gets sick; the cost of that would be impossible to handle. But recently I’ve been researching the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare to see if I could get a little help with my family's healthcare needs. Obamacare was signed into law in 2010. Its goal is to make healthcare more accessible and affordable for millions of Americans. Also, Obamacare expanded Medicaid, and this expansion allows more people to qualify and receive the care they need. Not to mention that if you qualify, you can get up to $1600/month in health subsidies that can help you pay for prescription drugs, health insurance, doctors visits and preventative care. This subsidy can leave you money for important daily expenses like groceries, gas, bills and rent. But if you sign up for Obamacare, you won’t necessarily get the subsidies, you need to see if you qualify for free, by calling the number on the screen. And in order to make healthcare more accessible, Obamacare created a ‘Health Insurance Marketplace’ where people and small businesses can compare and purchase health insurance plans. This increased competition among insurance providers, which created more affordable options for you and your family. On top of that, ACA health insurance plans are required to cover essential health benefits such as preventive care, maternity care, mental health services, and prescription drugs. This is to make sure that you receive comprehensive coverage without fear of being left without essential healthcare services. And, if you make less than $50,000 per year, you’re probably eligible for a health insurance plan through the ACA that is worth up to $1400/month! Also, prior to Obamacare, young adults often struggled to find affordable health insurance after they turned 18 or graduated from college. But now, Obamacare allows young adults to stay on their parents' insurance until the age of 26 making their transition into the workforce or college much easier. Obamacare was not only designed to help lower income families who would otherwise not be able to afford healthcare, but it was also designed to help with other things. Like you can actually qualify for Obamacares ‘Rental Assistance Program’ through the Department of Housing and Urban Development or HUD. You can use this money to pay rent or even utilities. Also, if you are self employed, through Obamacare, you could save thousands on health insurance with family plans that start at around 10$/month! And if you are on Medicare, SNAP, EBT or you do have a low income, you also may be eligible for Obamacare’s “Affordable Connectivity Program” which may qualify you for a completely free smartphone with unlimited data, minutes and texts. No bill of any kind and a free smartphone. And we all know how expensive having a smartphone with service costs here in America! To sum it up, Obamacare has made healthcare more accessible and affordable through its Health Insurance Marketplace, financial assistance, and essential health benefits, as well as helping with essentials like groceries, rent, and even cell phones with service included for life! And if you're curious about the benefits you may be eligible for, take advantage of a completely free consultation by calling the number on the screen or in the description below. That wraps up today's video on the benefits of the ACA. If you found this information helpful, don't forget to give this video a thumbs up and subscribe for more content.
