This video is a very short explanation in the differences between a audio group and a VCA. This example shows how a audio group allows manipulation of gain and audio inserts over a group. I didn’t mention that you can also apply EQ and panning over a group. A VCA is a remote control that allows movement of several faders at once, holding their position constant. You can not insert effects, EQ or pan a VCA. The DAW shown is Nuendo 10.
