Can a Value Theory Ethics supersede all others as an expression of value?
Like the neglect of both consciousness and value, it is surprising to discover that the major theories of ethics; Kantian, utilitarian and virtue theory, have deep flaws which undermine them as acceptable ethical systems. It might then be either, expected or surprising, to discover that value itself, as the leading principle of ethical theory, is absent from the lexicon of moral philosophy. We aren’t just talking about the concept of value common to all theories of ethics, but value as the principle of a theory of ethics.
