Afghanistan, a nation already in the grip of a humanitarian disaster, recently faced another disaster in the form of an earthquake. Yesterday, an magnitude 5.3 earthquake hit western region of the country, resulting in the death of 26 people. Earthquakes are frequent in the area, especially in the Hindu Kush mountain range. This comes as very bad news considering that Afghanistan is already in a deepening crisis with frozen International aid.
