Francis Ford Coppola the infamous director/producer has his own winery in Geyserville, CA just outside of Healdsburg in northern Sonoma County. It’s like a Disneyland for wine drinkers with a giant tasting room on the main floor and a smaller VIP tasting room upstairs. The whole place is decorated with artifacts from his movies like The Godfather, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Apocalypse Now, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. There’s also an amazing restaurant called Rustic with fantastic food and an outside dining area overlooking the vineyards. They also have events like Dancing Under the Stars and pool parties. It’s quite the facility and experience when you go. The wines are good, too. This one, the Director’s Cut Cabernet Sauvignon is widely distributed that can be found in any wine store for around $15. It’s 85% Cab Sauv, 10% Petit Verdot, and 5% Cab Franc with great red currant and raspberry flavors with medium tannins but good structure and depth. It’s a nice a nice braised lamb shank or even filet mignon type wine that’s totally worth the cost. It’s not even his best so grab this one, try it, be impressed, and then go to the winery to see what else they have that’s amazing
