Pune City unit of Shiv Sena held a meeting to show support for CM Uddhav Thackeray, who is facing a massive revolt by his MLAs led by Eknath Shinde. More than half the Shiv Sena MLAs are in Guwahati holed up at a hotel in the city, as they await to move the Supreme Court to gain recognition as a separate group. Both factions of the Shiv Sena have held marches in various cities in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena workers loyal to Uddhav Thackeray have also torn posters of rebel leaders and there have been some cases of vandalism at offices of rebel MLAs. At the moment it is unclear which way the result of the ‘Sena vs Sena’ battle will settle, but a revolt by majority of MLAs has unsettled the MVA government in Maharashtra.
