“The Africa Dialogue Series (ADS) is a platform for listening to Africa’s youth and for the youth to take their rightful place as key voices in policy discussions. As part of the OSAA’s programmes, I always emphasized the need for youth co-leadership and active participation and we ensured since the first series, that youth was provided with that space,” Ms. Bience Gawanas, former Under-Secretary-General and Special Adviser on Africa, launches the Youth Stage at the Africa Dialogue Series.
Drawing on both the ADS and African Union themes for 2021, she emphasizes the importance of art, culture and heritage as powerful tools for taking ownership of our present and future and future, and building the Africa of tomorrow based on joint, strong cultural identity.
