I put the legendary Ricoh GR II to the test shooting street photography the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval. The annual event attracts 400,000 people in outrageous costumes who party into the wee hours of the morning. And the GR II kept up in without breaking a sweat.
Can a fixed lens compact camera with a 4 year old sensor hold up as a dedicate street photography shooter? The Ricoh GR 2 doesn’t have the highest resolution sensor or the fastest AF but this little camera is well known for its amazing lens, intuitive controls and high quality construction. The camera produces rich images with a unique look and has proven to be a versatile tool that’s a joy to use.
There's plenty of sample pics in my Ricoh GR II street photography review but don't judge the image quality of any camera based on super-compressed YouTube videos! Full size pics are available in the full written review on streetshootr.com so head on over and have a look!
