Lahori Chargha
Ingredients for Marinade:
NESTLÉ MILKPAK yogurt 1 pack
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Egg 1
Red food color 1 pinch
Red chili flakes 1 tbsp
Red chili powder 1 tbsp
Garam masala powder 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tbsp
Cumin powder 1 tbsp
Green chili paste 2 tbsp
Ingredients for Soaked Chicken:
Whole chicken 1 ½ kg
Water as required
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Salt 1 tbsp
Ingredients for Chargha:
Soaked chicken
Prepared marinade
Oil (for frying) as required
Directions for Marinade Preparation:
1. In a bowl add NESTLÉ MILKPAK yogurt, lemon juice, ginger garlic paste, egg, red food color, red chili flakes, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, garam masala powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, green chili paste and mix it well.
Directions for Soaked Chicken Preparation:
2. Take whole chicken and place cuts on it.
3. In a bowl add water, lemon juice, ginger garlic paste, salt and mix it well. Add whole chicken and soak it well for 10-15 mins. Set aside.
Directions for Chargha Preparation:
4. Wash the soaked chicken and pat dry it.
5. Pour the prepared marinade over this chicken and marinate for 6 hours or overnight. Secure the legs with thread.
6. Wrap the marinated chicken in aluminum foil. Now steam the marinated chicken for 20-25 mins.
7. Deep fry this steamed chicken for 7-8 minutes.
8. Your Lahori Chargha is ready. Serve and enjoy.
