URBAN STUDIES AND SPATIAL PRACTICES PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

The program in Urban Studies and Spatial Practices combines the theoretical approach to the study of territorial and social transformation with forms of urban interventions and spatial analysis, connecting the theoretical analysis of space to practices of everyday life. Students employ spatial concepts and urban analysis to examine different systems of social organization and their impact on social relations, culture, and the environment. The program is interdisciplinary in nature, drawing on methods and knowledge from fields--such as anthropology, geography, economics, environmental studies, literature, human rights, law, and the visual arts -- to the study of urban space.

Urban studies graduates could find job opportunities in local municipalities, museums, urban planning departments at the ministry of local governing, the Palestinian Land and Water Settlement Commission, art centers, and many other institutions. Notably, urban studies graduates could work as freelancers and start their own entrepreneurial initiatives.
