Manas: "Every summer, every woman has a kind of bad obsession about the summer body, you know, to find the good shape, weight."
Delepierre: "This is more about like the sunset body, which is kind of the best moment when you're at the beach at the end of the day and the woman feels maybe the most comfortable and happy, and that's really the moment we want to dress the woman and the girls for. So we really work around this kind of new moment so."
Manas: "As a moment."
Delepierre: "Say goodbye to the summer body because it's really not a good idea. A sunset body is really welcome to everyone, it's the best place, the best moment."
Manas: "Under the sun."
Delepierre: "Under the sun, yeah."
Manas: "Absolutely."

Delepierre "We are trying to design clothing for everyone, which is maybe kind of new. We are not alone, but still something we all need to work."
Manas: "We need to work on, yeah, to push."
Delepierre: "So it's basically just to welcome every woman and girl into fashion, and to be able to wear the best dresses possible, so yeah."

Delepierre: "The collection is twice bigger than the last one, so you're seeing a lot of new things like wedding dresses, like new knitwear, like swimwear."
Manas: "Swimwear, we have a lot of. And pants also."
Delepierre: "So there's a lot of new techniques to master in a really short time, so that was kind of intense but super fun."
Ester Manas: "Exciting. Exciting."

STORYLINE:
ESTER MANAS PRESENTS HER SIZE-INCLUSIVE SPRING SUMMER COLLECTION AT PFW
The young Franco-Belgian brand Ester Manas, helmed by Manas and her partner, Balthazar Delepierre, was founded in 2019 to give women of all sizes fashion options they didn't have before.
The Spring-Summer 23 collection, shown at the Palais de Tokyo Saturday morning (1 OCTOBER 2022), was titled "Sunset Body," a riff on the summer body that women try to achieve as the days get longer and bathing suit season looms.
Models of all sizes wore knitwear, slacks, bathing suits, and even a wedding dress. The duo played with sheers and pastels, and have perfected a flattering ruched technique to use more fabric.
As Delepierre said afterwards, this collection was twice as big as their last one, and very ambitious.
"Say goodbye to the summer body because it's really not a good idea. A sunset body is really welcome to everyone, it's the best place, the best moment—," said Delepierre, and Manas finished his phrase, "—under the sun."
