New art piece reveal! This one is for Simply Pure Trenton NJ and my friend Tahir Johnson. The project was particularly cool because of the background, which I explain in the video below.
For those that don’t want to watch here’s the short version: I made a logo for Simply Pure in 2018 because I respected the work that Wanda L. James does. She’s incredible. Fast forward 5 years (almost to the day!) and Tahir, who I met as an advocate about 4/5 years ago, has won a retail license in New Jersey and wants a piece to commemorate the occasion.
I grabbed some Lemon Cherry Turdz from Gold Standard Pharm and Modified Grapes from Strong Mountain for the piece and made a frame from salvaged fir with a cedar triangle accent.
I don’t remake pieces often but when I do it’s a great chance to reflect on the journey. Not just my own progress but also the people I work with.
We’re all in the wild weed world together and when I see people I’ve respected for a long time hitting their winning season it reminds me how strong the culture is and how well positioned we are to compete with mega corporations.
