(1 Oct 2019) Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto described a violent attack in central Finland on Tuesday as "very shocking".
A man with a sword-like weapon and a firearm killed one person and wounded at least nine others at a college located inside a shopping centre in Kuopio.
The attacker was also wounded and taken into custody.
One police officer was slightly injured, and the conditions of the other wounded, including the attacker, aren't immediately available.
The attacker is believed to be a student of the Savo Vocational College, which occupies the second floor of the Herman shopping centre.
The motive for the attack remains unclear.
