Machines VS FREE WEIGHTS in Your Bodybuilding Workouts. Which is better? I've talked about this at length before, but in this video I approach the subject from another angle. ARE MACHINES HERE TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD. Well...maybe not that angle, but that might be a valid subject to talk about at another time as well. :) The advantage of machines is that you don't have to worry about activating stabilizer muscles on top of the prime movers, and let's face it, sometimes the stabilizers give out way before the prime movers do in free weight exercises. So for this reason I think using machines can offer some benefit. Of course though, if you want your strength to be functional, you're going to have to also train your prime movers to work with your stabilizers. If you don't then injuries can be the result.
