A study published by Harvard Humanitarian Initiative in 2019 revealed that there is a low level of climate change awareness among filipinos. This finding is ironic because the Philippines, situated at the Pacific Ring of Fire, is one of the most climate-vulnerable countries in the world. In fact, according to the World Climate Risk Index, it is the second most at-risk country in the world for climate change impact following Japan at #1. And that’s why the findings of this study are ironic: Why would a country that is at the forefront to be the most negatively impacted by Climate Change have a citizenry that are not as aware in terms of knowledge on Climate Change?
