Some marvelous excerpts of the Act 1 of J. Strauss II's Die Fledermaus, sung by one of the greatest casts assembled in the last decades to sing this operetta: Joan Sutherland (Rosalinda), Beverly Sills (Adele), Regina Resnik (Orlofsky), Alan Titus (Eisenstein), Giuseppe Campora (Alfred), Joseph Frank (Blind), Spiro Malas (Frank), Jake Gardner (Falke). The conductor is, of course, Richard Bonynge, conductor.
This is now a legendary performance of Die Fledermaus, dating from October 1980, in San Diego. Probably the one and only time where 3 of the best female singers of the 20th century sang together. The sound of this in-house recording was slightly cleaned and improved by me.
