I've recreated the sound of this original video (1944) of the Battle of Hürtgen Forest. I inserted sounds and effects from other original recordings, also helping me with some scenes from some movies, especially Band of Brothers. In particular, I think the soundtrack is particularly appropriate and I am happy of my work. Obviously the music is not mine, but I leave you its URL below: [ Ссылка ]

The Battle of Hürtgen Forest was the bloodiest battle fought by the US Army against the Wehrmacht during World War II. It lasted from September to December '44.
Field Marshal Walter Model managed to block the advance and masterfully manage the defense, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy. Inside the forest an ideal environment was created for the German defenders: they had prepared the area with forts, bunkers, minefields and traps of all kinds. Machine guns and German artillery (used intensively) constantly bit the few road junctions or clearings, which were very dangerous. The forest was a perfect natural barrier, where the numerical superiority of the allied troops and armored vehicles (of about 5: 1) was zero. In January 1945 the Americans, after the Battle of the Bulge, broke through the German lines right through the forest.
It had caused more than 57,000 casualties (including injuries and deaths) on the American side (33,000 victims), against 13,000 German dead and 95,000 prisoners.
