Former President Ma Ying-jeou was questioned by Taipei prosecutors today over his involvement in a 2013 wiretapping case, and charges that he had been behind an illegal leak of information in an attempt to take down then-Legislative Speaker Wang Jin-pyng.Former Prosecutor-General Huang Shyh-ming and Ma’s Premier Jiang Yi-huah were also summoned to answer questions. Ma is alleged to have asked Huang to reveal to Jiang evidence obtained in wiretaps of Speaker Wang illegally lobbying the Justice Ministry. Many legal scholars believe Ma is likely to plead guilty, given that Huang was found guilty on similar charges of illegally leaking information.
