Controlled Demolition, Inc. (CDI) of Phoenix, Maryland, USA (acting as Explosives Subcontractor to the Main Demolition Contractor and their client) performs the planning for and successful explosives felling of over thirty (30), V-82 wind turbines located in the North Central United States from July 8th through July 12th, 2021. CDI designed the felling of twenty-four (24) of the units and protection of the foundations for potential reuse. The Wind Farm Owner inspected all twenty-four (24) units and approved them for the re-powering program using wind turbine generators of larger capacity. Those units have been installed and are in service.
